The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald

A mild disappointment. The narrative was far too disjointed and I kept having to pause and re-read sections to try and understand what was going on. The storyline wasn't intriguing enough to merit a higher rating but thankfully, the plot picked up in the last third of this short book and made it feel slightly more worthwhile a read.

I didn't care for any of the characters, I didn't care for the story, generally, I felt and feel apathetic towards the book.

If it hadn't been for the fact that it was a relatively quick read and I was on a rather long ferry trip, I probably wouldn't have attempted to finish but altogether not a complete waste of 3 hours.

If anyone has the time to tell me why this book is considered a classic, please do enlighten me.
