I've been seeing a lot of calls for submissions lately and thought I'd create a post to keep track and share some that I've seen. Unlike my publishers accepting submissions posts, these calls for submissions tend to be for fiction short stories and poetry, and from journals, societies, festivals and magazines. Some offer payment, some don't, so check each individual call page carefully before submitting any of your work.
I'm going to attempt to keep this regularly updated as I see more calls, and to remove those that close their submissions. For the sake of ease (my own, I mean lol) I'm only going to be focusing on the UK and Ireland. Everything in this post is correct as of the 24th January 2022.
